Marketing Claims & Business Experience Disclosure How we describe experience, rankings, scale, and marketing claims

Fractional CMO aims to ensure public statements about experience, rankings, business counts, and results are accurate, supportable, and presented with enough context to avoid misleading visitors.

Purpose of This Disclosure

This Disclosure explains how Fractional CMO approaches public marketing claims about our experience, market position, client history, and business scale. It should be read together with our Earnings & Results Disclaimer, Testimonials & Endorsements Disclosure, Terms of Service, and other applicable website notices.

The goal is straightforward: descriptive marketing language should not be presented as an independently verified fact unless we can identify the supporting source, scope, and date.

Superlative and Ranking Claims

Fractional CMO does not intend to represent that it has been independently ranked as the "best fractional CMO agency in the United States" unless a specific third-party ranking, award, methodology, publication date, and source are identified with the claim.

Words such as "best," "top," "leading," or similar superlatives may be understood as promotional opinion when no objective ranking source is stated. To reduce ambiguity, our preferred public language focuses on the services, experience, and capabilities we can describe directly rather than on unsupported comparative rankings.

Preferred approach: describe the actual service and experience – for example, "senior fractional marketing leadership for growth-focused businesses" – instead of making an unqualified national ranking claim.

Business Experience Counts

Public materials may describe the cumulative experience of our founder, team, frameworks, or advisory work using business-count figures. Any numerical count should be used only when contemporaneous records support both the number and what the number represents.

A business-count claim should clearly distinguish, where relevant, between:

A cumulative historical experience figure should not be interpreted as the number of current Fractional CMO clients, current advisory members, or independently audited engagements unless the website expressly says so.

  • businesses served directly by Fractional CMO;
  • businesses worked with by a founder or team member before or outside the current Fractional CMO engagement model;
  • diagnostic or assessment participants;
  • unique paying clients, advisory engagements, or other categories that may otherwise be confused with one another.

How Experience Claims Should Be Read

When Fractional CMO refers to pattern recognition, cross-industry experience, or work across many businesses, the statement is intended to describe accumulated professional exposure and strategic experience. It is not a promise that every visitor or client will receive a particular financial or marketing result.

Experience may span different industries, company sizes, service types, and periods of time. Where a specific numerical figure is published, the supporting records should define the time period and scope used to calculate that figure.

Results, Revenue, and Performance Statements

Business-experience claims are separate from earnings or results claims. Prior work with a large number of businesses does not establish that a particular strategy will produce the same result for a new client. Testimonials, case studies, projections, savings estimates, revenue statements, and performance examples remain subject to our Earnings & Results Disclaimer and any specific disclosure presented with the claim.

Individual results vary. Experience, scale, or pattern recognition does not guarantee revenue, profitability, cost savings, conversion improvement, or any other business outcome.

Third-Party Awards, Rankings, and Recognition

If Fractional CMO cites a third-party award, ranking, publication, or recognition, the claim should identify enough information for a reasonable visitor to understand what was actually recognized. Where practical, the source and date should be available from the page or supporting reference.

A media mention, publication feature, client relationship, paid placement, or industry appearance does not by itself establish that an outlet or third party has ranked or endorsed Fractional CMO as superior to other providers.

Corrections and Updates

Marketing materials evolve over time. If a claim becomes outdated, cannot be substantiated, or is broader than the available evidence supports, Fractional CMO may revise, qualify, or remove that claim. This Disclosure is intended to provide a consistent standard for interpreting and maintaining those statements.

If a page contains legacy wording that conflicts with a more specific, dated disclosure or verified source, the more specific and current information should control.
